Las Vegas

Eyes down and no more bets please. Oh my god now that´s what I call hotels! ´Bigger is better´ is definitely the philosophy of this place. With all the themed hotels here you can travel around the world. They do these themes so authentically that you do actually feel like you could be there. For example, the Venetian hotel actually had a waterway on which you could take a gondola ride through the hotel. Most hotels if not themed on a country have other attractions such as a circus, water fountain displays, a Dolphin tank, a Shark tank and our hotel (the MGM) had a glass cage holding three lions right in the middle of the casino. For the first night we booked into the Stratosphere and for the folowing two nights we really pushed the boat out and went for the MGM Grand Hotel. Usually 150 pounds a night we managed to find a mid week special off the internet for 75 pounds. This place was amazing. We felt a little out of place in this four star hotel with our backpacks but once we had lost the bags and changed some money into chips we were right at home. We had no big wins however neither did we have any big losses which is the main thing. In fact we felt like we came out on top as we certainly took advantage of the free drinks that they provide you with (as long as you are betting). We met a number of people that were spending their whole holiday here. Although we couldn’t have done a whole week here we certainly felt that we could have filled an extra couple of days. On the second day we took the car out to the Hoover Dam. Shaun managed to lock the keys into the car so we had to ask the Police to try and break in (see photo below). On Thursday 25th October we headed back to L.A to drop off the car and get ready for our flight out to Cabo San Lucas on the 27th.
